Simple URL

The Simple URL scheme allows you to create shorter and more readable URLs in the style of http://www.sofawiki.com/sofawiki/simple-url

They are used only for the view action. All other actions still have the traditional URL with the index.php file as entry point.

The name of the page is simplified to make it a good URL citizen:

• a starting period is removed
• spaces are replaced by hyphens
• all letters are underscore
• german umlauts are replaced by the letter with e (ö oe).
• other accents are removed
• special characters are replaced by a hyphen
• duplicate hyphens and hyphens at the end are removed

Note this is all happening in the background.
