IP users

IP users are a special category of users, concerning the login. You may want to give access for example to a computer in a library to a namespace of your wiki. Users in the library can then use the wiki without the need of a password.

IP users have a username IP.000.000.000.000 where 000.000.000.000 stands for the IP number of the machine.

IP users do not need a password, they log in automatically.

The login link is still visible, if you would want to login as another user.

For the rest, IP users are normal users with the rights you grant to them. To create an IP user, simply create a page in the user namespace with the rights you want to grant.

Notes

Currently, only IPv4 is supported.
Currently, only single IP adresses are supported. Mail us if you need ranges.
