Alt users

The concept of alt users allows developers to switch between users to simulate other users environments without the need to log in.

To add alt users, add _altuser fields with the name of the users. The users must already exist. If you need a vanilla user, create a user with no rights.

When _altuser fields are set, the menu has them listed after the logout menu item.

Alt user cannot log out. To log out, go back to the main user first.

Notes

Choosing an alt user always switches to view action. If you need other actions and to keep parameters, you need to create your user switch menu yourself in your skin.

Choosing an alt users sets a cookie. All open windows share the same cookie. If you keep multiple windows open with different alt users, always confirm the alt user first before you continue.
